Blonde for my interview!

I've been a busy old bee the last few weeks!

Working lots, being interviewed in London, having my hair done and going on a small visit home.

I've been working hard to save because me and my friend Caroline are booking a last minute holiday next month, well needed by both! We are hoping to go to Greece or possibly Mallorca.

I have also had an internship interview in London with PR/ trend forecasting company EDTID yesterday, and have been successful! My placement will be for two weeks full time at the end of September just before I start back for my third year at uni. The title of the internship is 'Runway Trend Assistant'. My duties will be analysing the catwalk shows during and after LFW and picking out colour palettes, recognising fabric mixes and common themes. The company then sell their analytical forecasts to well know fashion brands. I am really excited to start here as forecasting and trend development are my main interests, and as the work is computer based my previous internship experience should help!

Anyway- as I have been working I haven't been wearing too many exciting outfits, and as I have been a bit poor I have had to limit my spending! But this is a selfie before my friends 21st birthday night out about a week or so ago! I finally got around to wearing my Racerback crop with Red animal print from Missguided, and really loved it with my Black midi skirt and new 'Gold plated' heeled sandals from New Look.

As always, teamed with my trusty Topshop necklace that I bought in the sale about a year ago now for £3!

Although my outfits haven't been too blogworthy, my nails are! I have now mastered the Ombre/Dip Dye nail art! These are the pictures are of my first attempt...

Firstly, I buffed my nails and made sure they were clean and dry. I then painted my nails with 2 coats of White base so that the colour looked more vibrant on top. I didn't worry about shaping them until after they were painted and dried as filing them got some of the excess paint off the edge of my fingers too!

Once dry, I dabbed on the first lighter colour to the base of my nail, making sure I dabbed any excess paint off the sponge onto this nail box of mine. I used this Barry M Mint as my base colour.

After doing a few coats of the Mint, the ends still being the White under base, I gradually dabbed on the Neon Yellow paint and blended the colours with the foundation sponge. After a few coats this is what they looked like!

Just don't forget a few final clear top coats as I found this blended the paint more and made the effect more even!

As they weren't too neat, I sprinkled on some shell confetti on the top coat. This is how they looked once dry! They remind me of the sea.

After loving the effect I had a bit more time one day to try again, with similar shades but lighter, and without the Neon. I started again with the White base. Allowing more time to dry between coats definitely creates more of an even effect. This is once I had applied a light Blue/Mint bottom colour, and a slightly darker Blue on the ends. I preferred these as they were more subtle.

I then decided I wanted the ends slightly darker so I applied a very light coat of a slightly darker Blue. I then did a few top coats, and brushed off the excess around my nails with a cotton bud stick soaked in nail varnish removed.

Anyway- as my Blog Post title suggests, I have gone a bit Blonder!

I am really happy about the result and would recommend Justice For Hair salons over and over. I had a half head of highlights done by the junior stylist for £25. Bargain! I had applied a box dye and my hair had gone much darker, despite disguising my roots. That's the last time I attempt to do my hair myself that's for sure!
Here's me now, much happier!

Let me know if you've been inspired to try the Ombre nails yourself!

Checks and Stripes Mish Mash

I am super excited about all these tartans and checks coming back in, and clashing colour ways makes it even more exciting! And also very excited about all the bold animal prints returning (with in mind not overdoing it...)

In Brighton a month or two back, I picked up this Red Tartan oversized shirt from a street vintage shop for a bargain £5, and cannot wait to wear it! (The problem being it is still too hot to!)

So for now I am thinking I might just settle with these lovely cute little Tartan socks (£1.99 New Look) under my new grungy cut out boots from work too! £59.99.

This is an outfit from work the other day, I love this little check monochrome skirt - £10 in the New Look sale. I decided to make it more casual by wearing this boxy green boyfriend crop top from River Island, £10. I don't think Monochrome has seen its last days just yet!

And here's some stripes too!

Zebra Print Blouse -  £12.99 H&M
Shell Necklace  - £7 Accessorize
Stud Tote Bag - £17.99 New Look
Sunglasses - £3.99 New Look

'You're from the 70's, but I'm a 90's bitch'

OOTN

Hey lovelies!

This is my outfit from a few nights back!
I absolutely adore this new top, the shape and style is so retro and the glitter makes it even better! Total bargain and such a find for Primark I think. I topped it off with this new Gold Chain necklace, in the New Look sale for a bargain £2.25 to compliment my shoes. I wore it with my H&M Leather look pencil skirt- which I have been getting so many compliments on! I got it way back before Christmas and have only just started wearing it again. They do have a similar one back in stock here though for £14.99.

Sorry for the fuzzy selfie! :(

Top - £8.00 Primark
Skirt - H&M Old Season
Bag - £6.00 Primark
Necklace - £2.25 New Look

You MAY notice- the shoes - are- new... this wasn't my fault this time as my lovely mum treated me when I was home! They look really great with tanned pins, my natural tan seems to be sadly fading now :( Back to the bottle! I love these 'barely there' sandal heels, with the low thin stiletto heel but the truth is I just can't walk in them, and I really don't know how some of you girls do! But you do it amazingly. But these are a little more 'Beckyfied' with a thicker heel and thicker ankle strap!

Who else is loving the pastel toned hair at the moment? I didn't want to do anything permanent and have seen wash out chalks in places like Topshop but couldn't afford to spend too much, but then I cam a colour. You can't see to clearly from the photos as I wanted the colour quite subtle but these are such an amazing idea! And soooo cheap!

This is just a quick snap of my nails too! I love the dark colour palettes creeping back in to Autumn, and found this gorgeous shade called 'Moonlight' in H&M for £2.99. It catches the light so nicely. Then I sprinkled loads of fun things on out of boredom! Cute.

Got My Glads On

OOTD

This again, is my work outfit for the day! Although, not really New Look .. Shhh! These are my gorgeous new shoes, yeah yeah I have a shoe addiction... They were a bargain £13 in the sale and are new in! I saw them in Marie Claire last week and 'fell instantly'

I love slouchy boyfriend tees at the moment, they make such a statement hanging over peg leg skinny trousers, or with longer skirts and are super duper comfy. I have belted mine in with this woven Primark belt- £1!

H&M Basic Top - £3.99
Topshop Floral Front Buttoned Skirt - Old Season

Unfortunately the heels will have to stay at home today as I have a long shift at work and my feet won't cope! Also apologies for the rushed pictures again- always in a rush for work and don't want to pester my hosuemate!

OOTD

Work Outfit Of The Day

I'm loving the Brogue and Loafer craze, and these crisp White ones I purchased a few months ago show off my tan nicely! I really love them teamed with this tie-dye midi dress from 'Apricot' also at New Look. Sorry the pictures aren't too great I took them with my Tri-pod in my room in a rush before work!
I'm very wary of wearing midi dresses as I have a curvy figure, but I have had so many compliments from strangers wearing this it's given me a boost!

New Look Dress - £17.99 - Unavailable online but in some stores

My bag was from Boohoo, months ago! I haven't worn it for a while as the lining tore and I had to sew it up and it took me so long to get around to it! But they have very similar ones on the High-Street again.
Thanks for reading! Becky xXx

Thou shalt have a Fishy...

OOTD

I am off to work later on another BEAUT day! But I am actually happy to be going as the air con has been a life saver. I went to Thorpe Park with a few friends yesterday! It was so much fun, I had been lots of times when I was younger as didn't live too far away. I have definitely become more of a coward with age!

I have been buying a bit more uniform for work, and been sale shopping out and about the last month - a bit too much to be honest.

This is my new favey necklace- £8.99 in the Zara sale. It's so cute and original! It's a cute fish pendant with a fish bone pendant attached.

This is my new dress from New Look, £16.99. I have looked online but they don't have the identical one, but they do have this Blue and Purple version!

I love how it looks with these new Chelsea Boots, real leather and a bargain £22 in the New Look sale. Originally £69.99! They are Limited Edition. I have been wanting them for so long and they will be perfect in Autumn! I feel awful now, because they seem to have taken them back out the sale so I think there may have been a mistake marking them up :S But here is the link if you still love them!

Holiday Pics, OOTN and Update!

Hello lovelies!

I am ashamed about how long I haven't blogged for, but I have an explanation!

Me and my former flatmates moved into our new house on the first of the month, it was a little stressful as we HATED our last letting agent (Tenants Direct... You've been warned!)
We didn't have our internet installed until the tenth, and I went on holiday on the twelfth!

My mum took me to Tunisia for the week. We couldn't have asked for better weather it was stunning, not one cloud until the last day when it began to cloud over before we left! Even though we've had our heat wave it wasn't quite the same when our apartment was less than a minutes walk to the beach, and to the pool! I got burnt within the first few days though :( But managed to buy this quirky tie-dye cover up in a local market for less than the equivalent of £10!

Airport Outfit
My River Island Tie-Dye Maxi Dress - £15 (Normally £20)

I love the two side slits in this dress! Because I have such stupid long legs I find it hard finding maxis that are long enough but this one is perrfffect !

We spent the week relaxing (which was well needed by both I think!) and stroking these gorgeous cats and kittens! We sneakily fed them some sausages every day or so!

Dress - Urban Outfitters

Sunglasses - New Look

This beauty fell asleep on me and kept trying to sit on my shoulders and crawl on my head!

We also jet skied- I still can't believe I managed to get my mum on one!

These are a few snaps from the holiday! The sea was stunningly clear and I got some gorgeous pictures at dusk.

Blouse - H&M
Skirt - H&M
Flip Flops - Asda

Above and below
This is where we went into the markets in the local town

Wearing my new vintage head scarf I purchased in Brighton, and looking a tad Red :I

I lived in these flip flops all week, so comfy. They are from Asda for £3, but they always have identical ones in places such as Accessorize. I love the wicker sole.
My toe rings (Purchased from Claire's outlet in Portsmouth) stayed untainted as I coated them in a clear nail polish!

Tousled hair on our last evening when we went out for dinner. It went very light in the sun I love it!

Black LBD - H&M
Necklace - Accessorize

Necklace - Topshop
Dress - Urban Outfitters

Me and my mum looking slightly shiny on a 'Tunisian special' dinner evening :)

We stayed at the El Mouradi Club, near Enfidha airport in Tunisia. It was on an all inclusive basis and we literally couldn't ask for more, although there weren't too many Brits abroad here! They did cater mainly for Germans, but the waiters were all so friendly. I wouldn't recommend going there without a man though! We were approached so many times, my mum thought it best to have us wear a wedding ring all week so that we weren't approached too much.

After coming back to Southampton and being back at work yesterday, I checked my end of year results and it seems all my hard work paid off! I received a first in my PR unit, and high seconds in my other 2 final units! I was so shocked and feel amazing :)
But I am even more proud of my friend Ellen who has received an internship with Ted Baker's womenswear buying department!
And here's me and Ellen last night before we went out in Southampton with a few girlfriends.

Dress - Old Season Primark
Necklace - New Look

It's been so hot and uncomfortable I just wanted to wear a cooling summer dress! But it was still roasting when we got out.

Thanks for reading! It won't be so long until my next post this time :)
